I met Mr. Dickinson to look at some of his herd in order to purchase a cow and calf pair. Listening to him talk about his herd, his property, how they manage their operation along with funny and interesting side stories.....I had to get this book.I expected some insight as to how to manage my new herd, how to market them and also how to enjoy them to the fullest...I got all of that AND MORE!!
I never would have imagined that a Colorado Cowboy(now Ohio Cowboy) with a few Texas Longhorns could stir up so much trouble, excitement, celebrity and $$$$!
I actually read the whole thing in a day......its kinda like having a bag of Ranch Doritos...you get started then an hour later when the bag is empty you can't believe where the time went and that you just ate the whole bag!!!! But boy was it good!!
Go get Fillet of Horn 2...whether you are a cowboy/cowgirl or not, you will enjoy the ride!!

I have been to the DCCI ranch many times, and each time I run into Darol Dickinson, well, it's a treat...
He is a true character and as lovable as a good uncle; one of these days we will fish together on his ranch.
You see the good and bad side of humanity when you read Fillet of Horn II, there is no sugarcoating. Darol
experienced polecats, saints, and slightly deranged (albeit decent) people through his life and passion, Longhorn
cattle.
His passion and love for the breed simmers on each page- isn't passion the ingredient that makes anyone 'great'
in their field? Well, it definitely shows through the pages of the book. Every chapter is a delight, and I
just about busted a gut over the trick Andre the Giant pulled on Arnold Schwarzenegger- you will just need to
read the book to understand.
Learn a lot about Longhorns, a little about Colorado, and a bunch about the Longhorn business, and enjoy
a good chuckle in every single chapter.
I am a fellow longhorn breeder.I have a small herd. I enjoyed the book very much and plan to meet Mr. Dickerson next fall at his fall fling.
